History

Founded in the early 1980's, Stallcombe had a group of local friends working to help the staff and residents. This was set up as a separate charity, originally called Friends of Stallcombe House. 

 

In 2002, the current support group, made up of both families and friends, was formed with a new name but the same charity number, and a small committee was elected.

Purpose

​

The object of Family and Friends shall be to offer financial help to the Residents of Stallcombe House by providing equipment and goods to enhance their enjoyment, thereby supporting the charitable work of Stallcombe House. Additionally, to offer friendship and support to the families and carers of the Residents.

What the charity does and how it raises funds

​

Our funds are used to purchase a birthday card and a Christmas Gift for each resident, and we have also contributed towards holidays and trips out. We have funded additional recreational and specialised items such as musical equipment, accessible swing in Willows garden and a two-person bike to enrich the lives of the residents- and we hope to continue to support future onsite projects and consider further fundraising opportunities.

We invite all families to become members of our charity (no cost involved). 

​

We are supported by a number of community outlets who sell our Christmas cards and have a small number of interested friends of our charity. All of our members are volunteers and give their time freely, so every penny raised is used for the benefit of the residents. We are also eligible to claim Gift Aid on any donations (forms available on request)
